Curcumin

Curcumin is primarily extracted from the rhizomes of "Curcuma longa", a member of the ginger family. It is a traditional yellow pigment and anti-inflammatory herb used in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Indian Ayurvedic system. Modern research has revealed that curcumin possesses a broad spectrum of pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-tumor, antibacterial, hypoglycemic, and hepatoprotective effects, earning it the title of a "natural multi-target drug."

Despite its diverse pharmacological activities, curcumin faces a critical challenge in practical application: "Curcumin is almost insoluble in water and exhibits extremely low absorption in the human body."
